Duties: networking and information sharing among all housing providers and providers to discuss housing resources and services for the homeless. This committee meets the 3rd Tuesday of  each month from 10:00-11:30am at YWCA 930 N. Monroe.

Homeless Preference Vouchers: Chair: Bob Peeler, 456-7106 x106, peeler@snapwa.org

Duties: Coordinates and establishes procedures in collaboration with NEWHS for SHC referrals for homeless families and disabled individuals to potentially  access set aside Housing Choice/City HOME vouchers which may assist up to 12 households to move from homelessness to permanent housing every month.

Hunger/Homelessness Awareness Week: Chair: Madelyn Bafus, 869-8213, maddyb47@msn.com

Duties: Seasonal committee that meets half the year to plan, coordinate, and implement the events during the national “Hunger and Homelessness Awareness week in November. This committee meets every month and the next meeting is announced at the SHC monthly meetings.

One Day Count: Chair: George Dahl, City Human Services Dept., 625-6130, gdahl@spokanecity.org

Duties: Seasonal committee that meets half the year to plan, coordinate, and implement the annual Spokane city and county-wide “One Day Count” in January.

Retreat: Chair: Currently not active.

Duties: Seasonal committee that meets half the year to plan and coordinate the annual SHC retreat usually in October at which time the coalition reviews the By-Laws and sets goals for the upcoming year.

Inclement Weather/Warming Centers: City Human Services/Leadership (media response)

Duties: Seasonal committee that meets half the year to plan, coordinate and implement     emergency shelters for the homeless in collaboration with the City of Spokane when the weather is forecast to be 15 degrees Fahrenheit or below

Homeless Family Protection Team: Chair: Bob Peeler, 456-7106 x106, peeler@snapwa.org

Duties: Coordinates and establishes procedures to address special needs of homeless families w/children and staffings available if needed.
